The struthiomimus is one of the largest ornithimimmids and roamed present North America. It's believed that they traveled in herds for mutual protection from predators, one of main defenses this animal had was its speed and stamina. Struthiomimus could run the average speed of a race horse which is close to around 25-30mph making it one of the fastest dinosaurs around. New discoveries show that ornithimimmids may have sported feathers so it's evident that struthiomimus would've probably had feathers. The name struthiomimus stands for " ostrich mimic" and this name was given because of the ostrich like characteristics these animals had including their ostrich like stance. Struthiomimus and other ornithimimmids would've been a common sight among Mesozoic flora and fauna and could likely be found in relatively large groups.
