The Pachyrhinosaurus lived up to its name of "thick nosed lizard" and showcased many striking and amazing features. One unique characteristic about this dinosaur is not just its appearance but the area it lived in, Pachyrhinosaurus is one of the few known dinosaurs that lived in the Arctic region but unlike today the temperatures there were much warmer allowing their to be sustainable dinosaur populations. Like many animals Pachyrhinosaurs would've exhibited sexual dimorphism, a case in which males are much larger with more profound features while females were smaller with less profound appearances. It's believed the large flat base on Pachyrhinosaurus's nose would've been the base of a large horn, but their is currently no evidence to support this. It might be evident that Pachyrhinosaurus may have had a covering of proto-feathers otherwise known as "dino fuzz" in order to stay warm in frigid climates of nortthern laramidia. The flat boss on Pachyrhinosaurs's nose may have been mostly likely used to help dig and forage for vegetation. The overall build of these animals is well adapted to a harsh climate making them a "hardy" species. During the mating season males may have used a complicated array of blood vessels in their frill to pump blood resulting in bright and frightening colors. Females also used their frill too, but they were likely used for intimidation, in the case that this didn't work they would resort to their strong physique and lethal defenses to fend off predators.
