This raptor is the one that started it all as it was the first raptor dinosaur ever discovered. It's known as dromeasaurus and its name means "running lizard". Dromeasaurus was one of the first raptors ever found and is believed to be the missing link between dinosaurs and birds. It's likely that it sported an impressive coat of feathers and possibly a feathery crest. Dromeasaurids share many similar features with modern birds, one of the most interesting features was their light build and design. This is a design that many birds today carry but this feature is what allows birds to fly, but it's high unlikely that this animal would've flown but it may be certain that this helped it chase after prey at incredible speeds. Another bird like feature is its arms and claws. The positioning of the arm bones is much like that of a birds as do the claws. As well the overall posture of this animal gives it a bird like stance. Like most raptors dromeasaurus hunted in packs in order to take down prey much larger than its self using its sickle like claw.
