Albertosaurus means "Alberta lizard" and roamed what is now Alberta, Canada as its name implies. The Albertosaurus is a smaller relative of the T.rex and featured a lighter build adjusted for running at faster speeds and chasing down prey. It's likely that the albetrosaurus hunted in packs consisting of individuals at different developmental stages. The albertosaurus lived alongside the pachyrhinosaurus and the edmontosaurus which would've been likely prey for these calculating hunters. A theorized hunting strategy was that younger individuals herded the prey into an area where the larger adults would be waiting. From there the larger adults would pick out the weakest individuals as their target and quickly take it down, this makes albertosaurus one of the most efficient hunters of the Cretaceous period. The albertosaurus lived towards the late Cretaceous and grew to a length of 30ft and weighed an estimated 2 metric tons making it one of the smallest tyrannosaurs. Two other features shown in this animal are its distinctive horns above its eye which are much like those of gorgosaurus, as well it featured a long tail which acted as a counter balance when running keeping the animal leveled.
