Hence its name the eotriceratops is amongst one of the earliest large ceratopsians to appear in the creatacous period. The eotriceratops shares many similarities with triceratops but is nearly twice the size with larger horns. The discovery of this new dinosaur was made in 2007 in New Mexico along with the remains of ojoceratops and torosaurus. Each of these 3 ceratopsians had their own unuiqe frill shape in order to distinguish each species. Their is little known about the dinosaur as only the skull and other partial remains have been found leaving this dinosaur still somewhat of a mystery. One interesting feature of the remains is that a distinct bite mark is shown above the eye suggesting the animal was killed by a predator. The exact identity of the killer is also unknown but it may belong to a tyrannosaur. In closing the eotriceratops is one of the most spectacular and mysterious ceratopsians.
