Europasaurus is one of the smallest known sauropods and scientist theorize that it may be a dwarf sauropod. The reason for this animal being so small is because of the area it lived in, at the time Europe was separated into a handful of island chains which isolated species with limited space and resources. Many of the animals roaming these islands are unlike any other dinosaurs known and have unuiqe characteristics. The Europasaurus is smaller than most sauropods and the size ranges between individuals of different ages from 1.7 meters to 6.2 meters long. Europasaurus grew to such a small size because of the limited vegetation the islands provided, if Europasaurus would've been any larger it would've overgrazed and the vegetation wouldn't have enough time to recover and regenerate. The Europasaurus has similar appearances with a brachiosaurus bring some scientist to think that Europasaurus may be a dwarf brachiosaur, but the jury is still out for the exact classification of this animal. The name Europasaurus means, " Europe lizard " because of the area it was found in, this surely is one fascinating jurassic sauropod.
