This impressive and large ceratopsian is the mighty Coahuilaceratops, one of the largest members of its kind. It features some of the largest horns of any dinosaur and in fact possibly the longest horns of any animal known to exist! Like modern day animals the horn grew with a bony hollow base but additional growth was made through the horn tissue which would've made the horns even longer than the actual bone! The horns were useful against defending themselves and fighting amongst themselves over territorial disputes for breeding rights. Although the horns posed as a formidable force it would've only been effective with a frontal attack, if the predator attacked from the side or behind Coahuilaceratops would've left its hindquarters and back exposed and extremely vulnerable to attack.
